I don't think it will ever go away.....

I live my life day by day trying to do right in this world, do right for myself and right for the people around me... just trying to be the best person I can in every situation.

I'm constantly being haunted by a memory though. A memory from my past that's keeping me from being truly happy. I tried hiding it for so long but it has finally become too much to bare. This memory I'm speaking of has a name, and actually also has a URL and a domain server. This memory of mine is called The Truckug Chronicles.

The fact that I had left it behind in my life and tried moving on without it disgusts me. I have failed as it's moderator and I'm finally willing to face that as a fact. No more hiding for me. I have things that I need to say and I'm going to finally start saying them again.

So here we are! Back in the game!! I decided to dedicate my first post in probably a year to this very strong, almost terrible tasting beer that I'm drinking right now. Seriously, it's good and everything. But Jesus... Well, I guess that's all I have to say for now. Peace fools!!!!

I am a dynamic figure, often seen scaling walls and crushing ice. I have been known to remodel train stations on my lunch breaks, making them more efficient in the area of heat retention. I translate ethnic slurs for Cuban refugees, I write award-winning operas, I manage time efficiently. Occasionally, I tread water for three days in a row.

I woo women with my sensuous and godlike trombone playing, I can pilot bicycles up severe inclines with unflagging speed, and I cook Thirty-Minute Brownies in twenty minutes. I am an expert in stucco, a veteran in love, and an outlaw in Peru.

Using only a hoe and a large glass of water, I once single-handedly defended a small village in the Amazon Basin from a horde of ferocious army ants. I play bluegrass cello, I was scouted by the Mets, I am the subject of numerous documentaries. When I'm bored, I build large suspension bridges in my yard. I enjoy urban hang gliding. On Wednesdays, after school, I repair electrical appliances free of charge.

I am an abstract artist, a concrete analyst, and a ruthless bookie. Critics worldwide swoon over my original line of corduroy evening wear. I don't perspire. I am a private citizen, yet I receive fan mail. I have been caller number nine and have won the weekend passes. Last summer I toured New Jersey with a traveling centrifugal-force demonstration. I bat .400. My deft floral arrangements have earned me fame in international botany circles. Children trust me.

I can hurl tennis rackets at small moving objects with deadly accuracy. I have won bullfights in San Juan, cliff-diving competitions in Sri Lanka, and spelling bees at the Kremlin. I have played Hamlet, I have performed open-heart surgery, and I have spoken with Elvis.

But I have not yet gone to college.

A little over a month ago I was magically whisked away into a realm of danger and adventure, stuck in a land of fantasy known only by the name of 'Hyrule Temple', and there I was forced to brutally engage in battle with dozens of deadly, sadistic creatures with monstrous super powers, just hoping that someday I'd be able to find my way back home and update my blog...

I had my cell phone on me the whole time but couldn't really make many calls. Unfortunately Verizon doesn't get that great of service out there. With all of the fireballs and laser guns and ass kicking going on around me it was hard to find time to document the occasion, but I was able to take this quick snapshot of the place right before plummeting to one of my deaths.

Yes, I said one of my deaths, implying that there are more than one. Here on earth, you die once and that is it. We all know this. But in Hyrule, somehow after dying you immediately get brought back to life and dropped right back into the middle of the battlefield. It's shocking at first but you eventually get use to it. There's only a certain amount of lives you can have though until you're finally dead, so it's not like being completely invincible, but it's still sort of an advantage when you're dueling for your life on an island in the sky. I died like 12 times up there! It was always such a downer though when I would work my ass off to get a kill, and then finally once I got it the character would all the sudden be right back there with full health and everything ready for his next attempt at visciously destroying me again and stuff... it was terrifying and exciting at the same time.

Everyone agreed to pose for a picture really quick before combat. These are the cold-hearted bastards themselves.... some of them look sweet but don't be fooled by their appearance, they're all merciless, diabolical monsters who kill just for the sake of killing...

BUT HEY!!! That's all over and it's behind me now. I fought and killed them all and now they're dead. Except for Kirby... I kept him. So anyway, yeah, that's why it's taken me so long to update the site!

Rapping (also known as emceeing, spitting bars, or just rhyming) is the rhythmic spoken delivery of rhymes, wordplay, and poetry. It's fashionable, trendy, and a primary ingredient in 'Hip Hop' music (which these days is ALLLLL THE RAGE). Drug found on 90% of U.S. Bills

If you live in the United States or Canada, chances are you have cocaine in your wallet. Nearly nine out of ten bills circulating in the U.S. and its northern neighbor are tainted with cocaine, according to what's being called the most definitive research to date on the subject.

What's more, researchers were surprised to find hints that more Americans are using the illegal drug, said study leader Yuegang Zuo of the University of Massachusetts in Dartmouth.

In a similar study by the same team in 2007, 67 percent of U.S. bills were found to be tainted with cocaine. The new study puts the percentage at 85 to 95—a jump of roughly 20 percent, Zuo said.

The drug gets on paper money during drug transactions and when people roll bills to snort cocaine powder, Zuo said.

Stress spurred by the worldwide financial crisis may be driving people to abuse cocaine, one of the most common illegal drugs in the world, Zuo said in a phone interview.

The new findings could "help raise public awareness about cocaine use and lead to greater emphasis on curbing its abuse," Zuo said in a follow-up email.

Cocaine Country

Part of the reason the new study is so complete, Zuo said, is because the team used new equipment, a gas chromatograph-mass spectrometer, which doesn't ruin the money—allowing the scientists to test more bills without breaking the bank.

The team collected banknotes from the Brazil, Canada, the U.S., China, and Japan.

With 5.8 million people having used the drug at least once in 2007, the U.S. is the world's biggest cocaine market, according to the 2009 UN World Drug Report.

Perhaps not surprisingly, then, the U.S.—along with Canada—had the highest percentage of cocaine-permeated bills in the study.

Of the 234 U.S. bills collected in 17 large and small cities, nearly 90 percent had traces of cocaine, especially in larger cities such as Baltimore, Boston, and Detroit. Ninety-five percent of the dollars found in Washington, D.C., had cocaine embedded in their fibers—among the highest in the study.

In keeping with their reputations for having relatively low rates of cocaine use, China and Japan yielded bills with relatively low levels of cocaine contamination.

Asian drug-taking practices could conceivably be partly responsible for the lower percentages of cocaine-tainted bills. Zuo doesn't know, for example, whether Asian cocaine users inhale through rolled bills as many Western users do.

"It is for sure that drug abuse in different countries and regions has different use patterns which may affect cocaine contamination on money," he said via email.

Regardless of where you live, though, there's little chance of getting buzzed off your bills, Zuo said. Even in the U.S. and Canada, the concentrations are simply too small.

Cuba Runs Out of Toilet Paper

Cuba, known for its abundance of vintage American automobiles, baseball players and Buena Vista Social Clubs, has found itself in the middle of full-blown Cuban Toilet Paper Crisis.

The state-run company that manufactures the country's T.P. supply, Cimex, said they are currently unable to produce or import enough raw materials to make more toilet paper until at least December. "The corporation has taken all the steps so that at the end of the year there will be an important importation of toilet paper," said a Cimex spokesperson.

Meanwhile, President Raul Castro announced budget cuts last week that slashed imports by 20 percent. That, combined with the raw materials shortage, has led to the rapid disappearance of toilet paper from store shelves. Until more supplies are produced, citizens are encouraged to conserve toilet paper by tearing off fewer squares, switching from two-ply to one-ply or using cigar wrappers.

Skateboard Lane?

Campus Installs Skateboard Lane

This summer, UCSB marked off a pilot skateboard lane in the main campus corridor to judge the possibility of keeping the skate-friendly portion of the student body from thrashing the pedestrian and bike population.

The first of its kind at the university, the 5-foot wide path is considered a first attempt at a project to improve the safety of pedestrians and skateboarders alike. According to Ron Cortez, the associate vice chancellor and chair of the skateboard committee at UCSB, the skate lane, which consists of several hundred feet of paint, graphics and signs cost $12,500 to install.

Cortez said Summer and Fall traffic on the skate path will be guinea pigs so the university can judge if the paths are effective.

“The lane has emerged as a way to make the campus pathways safer for everyone,” Cortez said. “[The committee] will be judging closely throughout the Fall Quarter to see whether or not it works and how the students are reacting to it. It may make things safer, but then again it may make things difficult. It’s all going to decide whether we want to expand and put more lanes throughout campus in the future.”

With the implementation of the lane, skateboarders must now abide by it at all times and stay clear of the pedestrian pathways beside it.

Associated Students and the campus “Be Smart About Safety” fund matched the $7,500 that two students from the Skateboard Committee, Jose Magana and Raymond Collins, fundraised for the construction of the lane.

“Ray and I raised $7,500 for the lane and have done a lot to spread awareness for skateboarding safety,” Magana said. “I think this lane will reduce skateboard related injuries because pedestrians will have their own area to walk in. We just don’t have sufficient amounts of bike racks, so by skateboarding, it alleviates bike congestion on the paths.”

Of the total $15,000 allocated for the skate path, only $2,500 remains, Cortez said, in case the skate path is not received well and needs to be removed.

Magana said that if the lane proves to be a success, it will only make sense to install more lanes around campus. However, the most important thing right now, he said, is for skateboarders to unite and ensure that skateboarding doesn’t get banned.

Tina Cheng, a third-year comparative literature major who regularly skates to class, gave a skateboarder’s perspective on the new lane.

“I’m happy that there’s a lane because that means skateboarding won’t get banned anytime soon, but I am a bit skeptical about how the lane will work,” Cheng said. “Skateboarding has a different way of control than biking in a sense of its speed and direction. I’m sure there will be less crashes towards pedestrians, but there may be more crashes between skateboarders. The lane just seems too narrow for comfort.”

Magana noted he is currently in talks with Cortez for possible ways to get students accustomed to the new lane, one idea being a skateboarding education section in this summer’s freshman orientation.

“I saw a lot of people on campus looking at them in confusion,” Magana said. “I want to make sure that skateboarders know the laws and the rules so that everyone can get to class in peace.”

While the pavement of the skate lane may be rough and patchy in spots, Cortez said the whole campus corridor cement is scheduled for replacement in the next several years and no large-scale work is planned before that.

In a report Wednesday, the Paris-based International Energy Agency estimates new electronic gadgets will triple their energy consumption by 2030 to 1,700 terawatt hours, the equivalent of today’s home electricity consumption of the United States and Japan combined.

The world would have to build about 200 new nuclear power plants just to power all the TVs, iPods, PCs and other home electronics expected to be plugged in by 2030, when the global electric bill to power them will rise to $200 billion a year, the IEA said...”

Man stabbed after passing gas

Flatulence upset a man to the point of assault Tuesday at the Clarion Inn on South Fourth Street.

Juan Antonio Salano Castellano, 35, was sharing a hotel room with four other individuals. At the time of the crime, one roommate was showering and two were outside on their cell phones.

While eating in the hotel room with another man, Castellano passed gas. The flatulent act enraged the man, who threw a large kitchen knife across the room, Waco police said. The hurled knife cut Castellano on his leg.

The man then walked across the hotel room, picked up the kitchen knife and stabbed Castellano in the left side of his chest, the Waco police said.

The other roommates walked in the hotel room to find Castellano had been stabbed and attempted to take him to the nearest emergency room. Once the men realized they weren't aware of the location for the nearest hospital, and an ambulance and police were called.

According to the press release, Castellano was transported from the hotel by East Texas Medical Center to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center.

Hillcrest Hospital has no records of the victim's hospital visit Tuesday. The victim had not been to the hospital since 2008, a Hillcrest Hospital representative said.

Jose Braule Ramirez, 33, was arrested in the hotel room and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The charge carries a minimum prison sentence of 2 years and a maximum of 20 years and a fine not to exceed $10,000.

Ramirez is being held at the McLennan County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail.

The jail is also holding Ramirez because of an immigration detainer. As of mid-day Wednesday Ramirez had not posted bail.

Message from the Future

I received a very disturbing instant message this afternoon on AIM, and I believe that it is a message from the future. I've decided to post it up online to warn everyone of what is to come.

I must first warn you though, that this message is incredibly discomforting. Some may not be able to handle reading it. If this were a movie, it would be rated 'R', possibly NC-17, so continue at your own will...

Since receiving it, I have analyzed the message and have come to a possible conclusion as to what it means. First of all, robots are going to revolt against us and enslave mankind. That's not too much of a surprise though, we knew that already. That was foretold by the writers and producers of 'Terminator' many years ago... Second, just as I suspected, robots really do have feelings. The robot stated in the message that he was sad because he was unable to enslave humans. Every time in the past when I've dropped my phone or something, I always felt really bad, as if I've caused it pain. Now I know for a fact that I was right...

The last part of the message is the scariest and the most important. I know that because the letters are capitalized!! In robot language, capital letters indicate yelling. So what is it saying??? I first had to look up the definition of 'downtrodden':

Obviously we're dealing with older robots, more obsolete robots. Robots that we believe to be unusable in this day and age. Like toasters, and VCRS.... They're coming together and are going to get us!

How can we stop this from happening? It's simple.

STOP BUYING NEW SHIT THAT YOU DON'T NEED!!!!! Why get a $3,000 HDTV when you can't even afford basic cable afterwards? Why get a cell phone that can do absolutely everything when you really only need it for phone calls? Do you really need to check your Myspace and Facebook everywhere you go? If you answer yes to that, you probably don't have many places to go anyway, and you can just sit at home and use you computer...

Save your money!! Do epic shit!!! Be nice to your VCRs!!! Don't bow down to the newest latest hottest gadget that you think you need to live because really, it's actually completely unessecary to life. The robots will revolt and get us later. This is a warning, and now you know how to stop it from happening!!!!

The Boner Bulletin #2

I've been hanging out with Boner a lot these days, and for the last two or three weeks all he's been talking about is this movie called Role Models (2008). At first, I didn't really care about it. Frankly, it's sometimes easier to just not care about what he says, but when he didn't stop talking about it I became somewhat intrigued. I decided to sit down and watch it.

Basically, two guys are sentenced by court to spend 150 hours participating in a community mentorship program called Sturdy Wings, where they become mentors, a.k.a. "bigs," to young, misfit children a.k.a. "littles."

It turned out to be a pretty good movie. If you haven't seen it I definitely recommend it. I think it comes out on DVD this weekend actually. But anyway, after watching it I began thinking about what it would've been like as a child to have my own "big" and how it would've effected me as a person, and also who I would want my "big" to be. Oddly enough, of all the people in the world all I can think of is Boner. Maybe it's because he hyped up this movie so much or just because I'm writing a Boner Bulletin......... or maybe it's just because it would've been fucking tight!!!!!!!

In this sense, Boner is an icon of hope for all 'littles' in this world. He's capable of teaching kids many life lessons that others couldn't/wouldn't dare teach! Things like how to make cookie dough ice cream in an ice cream factory, how to shotgun a beer without missing a drop of alcohol, and how to turn a boring old minivan into a way of life! These are the kinds of things kids will need to know in the future! Boner as a BIG would be good and I recommend you introduce your child to him at once....

In conclusion, Boner can teach your children what's necessary in life to just get by. All else is unnecessary, especially since the apocolypse is nearing. How to get by after that is up to your kids. I suggest they play video games. That will teach them what they need to know once that happens. Don't believe me? Watch this video.

Bad Timing

I don't know why, of all times, I'm choosing to update my blog right now. I just woke up and have class in an hour. I still need to eat, shower, shave, get dressed, get homework together, get gas, drive there, and then probably have to walk for like 10 minutes because there's never good parking....

I haven't been keeping up with the blog lately and I feel bad. I decided to devote the last 3-4 weeks strictly to school and getting back into the swing of things. I haven't really taken school seriously since I was a freshman in high school 6 years ago, so it's been kind of crazy. I'm excited though about this semester at West Valley. I'm doing really good so far and I love all my classes.

Anyway, I need to get going here. I'll make another update later today once I get home. Watch this video of Bruce Lee until then!!

The Blogger's Block

Heeeyyyy everyone... Sorry it's taken me so long to finally get something up on here. I've been trying to update the blog for over a week now but for some reason I just couldn't do it. It's not that I've been too busy or anything (because I definitely haven't), but it's just that lately every time I attempt to make a new post my brain all of the sudden shuts off. Any thoughts or ideas that I may have been thinking at the time disappear into the dark corners of my mind and slowly dissolve into nothing. I just get left staring at the computer screen for like twenty minutes, all spaced out and bewildered, and the screen just glares right back at me showing absolutely no signs of vulnerability. It's intimidating and terrifying. But I've finally researched and analyzed this problem, and taking all symptoms into account I've concluded that I have very bad case of the blogger's block....(which is a very close relative to the infamous writer's block)

My solution? Turn the blogger's block against itself!!! I just used it's ability to stump the shit out of people as something to write about, so now the block is gone! Haha so now I don't even know if I want to publish this post cause it's kinda dumb. Ehh maybe if I don't post it I'll jinx myself and just get blogger's block again. Anyway, I'll be back later on to write more. So uhh.. I dunno. Here's a few pictures to look at while I'm gone!

After reading Kevin's newest posting over at The Clog (www.calderclog.blogspot.com), I feel kind of stuck. I've been trying to make a new posting on here all day but whenever I'm about to start writing I just think about pies. How am I even going to try to compare with that!?!? His blogs make you think of pies.. ALL DAY!! And that's amazing because everyone likes pie....

Now I start thinking about the pie that I've been trying to eat all day. Kevin made me a pumpkin cream pie a few days ago. It's delicious! I ate some yesterday and have been wanting to eat some of it today, but once again I feel stuck. If you haven't already, go read Kevin's newest Clog posting that's entitled "Pie, Another Look." This will all make a lot more sense once that's been read. So now I just look at this pumpkin cream pie. It's very sweet. Has a nice, creamy soft texture unlike any other pumpkin pie, and I wonder why there was a slice missing when he gave it to me. What uuhhhhh... what'd you do Kevin?? The pie's really good. Ok and now I'm wondering why this posting is all about pie now, that's Kevin's thing.

AHH man ok, I'm really getting off track here and I'm rambling a lot. I really don't have anything to talk about right now. His real name is Derrick but he won't tell you that when you meet him. He's a local SD/Clairemont lurker and he films for SK8MAFIA. If it wasn't for D-Blaze, San Diego would have been pretty boring so far. Every person we've met, every spot we've skated, and every party we've gone to has been because of D-Blaze. If you know him then you know exactly what I'm talking about, so if you plan on going to San Diego anytime soon keep an eye out for him! He's just a chill dude so I had make a post dedicated to him.

Even in the stickiest of situations, Batman has never given up on Gotham City. From his battle with The Scarecrow in "Batman begins" to his war with The Joker in "The Dark Knight," he has worked so hard to make that city the fine place that it is today.

Due to the present financial crisis in our economy, Gotham City officials tragically had to let Batman go. With all the paycheck cuts and the city taxes, they couldn't afford to have him working anymore.

In brighter news, they were able to find a replacement super hero that's willing to work for minimum wage. His identity has not yet been released to the public, but rumor has it he will be starting work the first of January '09.
